Angus South MSP Hails Extra £10 million for road maintenance
Graeme Dey MSP has welcomed news that Angus Council is set to benefit from extra funding to cover the cost of roads maintenance and make additional repairs to road surfaces, following the extended wintry weather.
The Scottish Government’s Finance Secretary, Derek Mackay, has taken the decision to allocate an additional £10 million for all 32 councils, with the details of the distribution to be agreed with COSLA.
Commenting, Angus South Constituency MSP Graeme Dey, said:
“Like most of Scotland, Angus has been hit hard by extreme weather in recent months.
“This has has inevitably caused damage to our road network, leading to local authorities incurring unexpected costs to their maintenance budgets.
“I am pleased to see the Scottish Government, despite budget cuts from Westminster, taking action to support Angus Council to keep our road network safe. I am sure my constituents will also welcome this.”
