Graeme Dey Welcomes Approval of Changing Places Facilities at Dundee Train Station
Graeme Dey MSP for Angus South constituency has joined accessibility campaigners in Tayside in welcoming news that a Changing Places facility at Dundee rail station has been given final approval by the Transport Minister.
The much called-for facilities are designed to meet the needs of people with complex care issues, are expected to be installed at a cost of around £80,000.
The MSP has been in ongoing contact with ScotRail officials and the Scottish Government highlighting the need for installation of the facilitates.
Work will be programmed to start once the redeveloped station opens in July 2018. This ensures the station remains on schedule to open before the Open at Carnoustie.
Commenting, Mr Dey said:
“After months of constructive communication with officials at ScotRail, I am delighted to see the Transport Minister’s give final approval to much needed Changing Places facilities.
“It is absolutely crucial that we continue to identify ways to improve accessibility for all transport users.
“Providing facilities such as Changing Places toilets is a massive step in helping to improve accessibility for those with complex care needs.”
PAMIS, have been one of the key campaign groups championing the need for Changing Places toilets at Dundee Station.
