It has been confirmed that Angus Council will receive nearly £300,000 from the Scottish Government to help cover the cost of roads maintenance and make additional repairs to road surfaces, following the extended wintry weather.
Graeme Dey the MSP for Angus South Constituency commented:
“This funding will assist Angus Council in repairing roads across the county following the particularly bad weather this winter and I have been assured by the Chief Executive that it is appreciated.
“I recognise that the costs borne by the Council will likely exceed the money the Scottish Government is providing it with to help mitigate the impact that the weather had on our local road network but it is still a welcome contribution and I look forward to seeing it deployed to good effect.’’
