That the Parliament welcomes the appointment of Sir Mark Jones as the Chair of the Governors of the Hospitalfield Trust; understands that Mark brings vast experience to this role, having led major institutional change and capital development in national cultural institutions, such as the V&A museum and the National Museum of Scotland, and is confident that Mark can lead the board of governors in their efforts to turn Hospitalfield into a major national and international arts destination, which it considers plays an increasingly active role in the cultural life of Angus.

That the Parliament congratulates Thornton’s Solicitors on raising what it considers an amazing £42,000 for Cash for Kids; understands that the sum was raised through Thornton’s hugely successful 20th anniversary Charity Wills Campaign, which waived fees for will writing throughout September 2016, and understands that the record sum will help Cash for Kids continue to provide support for disabled and disadvantaged children across Scotland.

That the Parliament congratulates Margo Williamson on being appointed Angus Council’s Chief Executive to replace Richard Stiff after his retirement; welcomes her being chosen to serve as the council’s first female chief executive; acknowledges that Margo has been a Strategic Director at Angus Council since 2013, firstly for the People Directorate and latterly the Children & Learning Directorate and that, prior to working for Angus Council, she was Head of Service (Education) at South Ayrshire Council from 2008 to 2013, and wishes Margo well in taking Angus Council forward once she assumes her new post on 1 June 2017.
