That the Parliament congratulates Dundee and Angus College on being recognised by the Scottish Funding Council as being the best college in Scotland for student outcomes for full-time further education courses; welcomes the college continuing to surpass national averages in terms of student success in a range of categories, including full-time and part-time higher education courses, and that, in all age groups, students performed better than the national average; notes that the college has maintained above average results for students from deprived areas, and welcomes the hard work of all of the staff and students at the college in producing these excellent results.

That the Parliament congratulates everyone involved with Carnoustie Marie Curie Care on raising £25,000 over the last two years; acknowledges that mountains have been climbed, cans shaken, tablet and cakes made, miles run, and people have abseiled off the University of Dundee’s Tower building, all in order to help this fantastic cause, and applauds the efforts of the team.

That the Parliament notes with concern that the TSB has announced plans to close 17 branches across Scotland, including the Kirriemuir branch in the Angus South constituency; welcomes the commitment from the bank that these plans will not lead to job losses but recognises that areas across the country are facing accessibility issues as a direct result of both this announcement and branch closures by other banks, and calls on the banking sector to put in place measures, such as mobile banking facilities and services via post office counters, to ensure that people can access face-to-face banking facilities.
