Positive Report from Education Scotland

An Education Scotland report published this week has spoken highly of the quality educational offering being delivered by Dundee & Angus College.

The report follows Education Scotland’s latest annual engagement visit in December 2023.

It highlights many strengths of the college including successful partnership working, a continual commitment to student excellence and themes of innovation and inclusivity throughout the college’s operations.

Inspectors recognised an improvement in learner successes and completion rates alongside innovative teaching excellence. The college was also commended for a strong focus on making sure its curriculum is industry-led, creating a clear pathway from education to work which enables students to develop the required skills to enter employment.

The report provides welcome external validation following reorganisation of support functions and activities and a full review of curriculum provision to streamline learning journeys.

I very much welcome this highly encouraging report from Education Scotland about our fantastic local college.

Being both the MSP for Angus South – where the college has its dynamic Arbroath campus – and Minister for Higher & Further Education, I am obviously delighted to read such praise.

Staff at Dundee & Angus College work extremely hard to provide the quality of education our region needs and deserves, and so it is great to see these efforts recognised.

I look forward to continued collaboration and visits.

I’m Graeme’s Parliamentary Assistant based at Holyrood, but I support his constituency work as well. Having been Caseworker to an Aberdeenshire MP some years prior, joining Graeme's team in 2019 was a return to this line of work from a role in fundraising.
