4,200 Properties Benefitting Locally
Graeme has welcomed the news that 4,220 properties across Angus have received £16.8 million worth of non-domestic rates relief this year, thanks to SNP policies.
Non-domestic rates relief lowers bills for eligible organisations through initiatives like the Small Business Bonus Scheme, which offers 100% non-domestic rates relief for eligible businesses.
Scotland-wide, 153,940 properties were in receipt of a total of £727 million in relief from non-domestic rates at 1 June 2024. This accounts for 61% of non-domestic properties on the valuation roll.
121,790 properties, or 48% of those on the valuation roll, received an exemption from rates or a 100% relief – worth almost £520 million. The Small Business Bonus Scheme (SBBS) alone accounts for a value of £239 million.
The SNP have said the figures show the value that the Scottish Government places on supporting small business and organisations.

These figures are very welcome indeed, demonstrating the extent to which small businesses here in Angus and all over Scotland are benefiting from SNP policies.
GRAEME
The range of Scottish Government rates relief will be a lifeline for many at a difficult time, and I am encouraged that so many Angus businesses are being supported in this way.
These are the most generous non-domestic rates relief policies in the UK, with the Small Business Bonus in particular offering 100% relief for a wider range of businesses than is the case elsewhere.
The SNP Scottish Government is committed to seeing Scottish business thrive, and is working for businesses in Angus.
