Graeme Visits Stewart Ramsay (Fire Protection) Ltd

Graeme has marked this year’s Small Business Saturday with a visit to help promote a constituent’s local family business.

Small Business Saturday is a campaign to highlight the success of small business and encourage customers to shop local, with Graeme paying a visit to Stewart Ramsay Ltd.

They are a family-run business and specialise in the supply, installation & regular maintenance of portable fire fighting equipment.

Services also include installation of a complete range of fire and general safety signage. They supply and service extinguishers for a range of businesses, from individual taxi drivers to HMO rental properties to major national companies, as well as offering fire safety training on the proper use of extinguishers.

The SNP says it is taking action at the devolved level to support local businesses and give them the best chance of succeeding, despite Westminster economic turmoil.

The Scottish Government’s Small Business Bonus Scheme, for example, is estimated to take over 100,000 properties out of rates, while the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card has seen nearly £15 million loaded onto cards so far.

Small businesses are the lifeblood of communities here in Angus as they are across Scotland.

This SNP Scottish Government is absolutely committed in backing them to succeed, despite the challenges of a disastrous Brexit and economic mismanagement from Westminster which mean it has never been harder.

I was delighted to mark Small Business Saturday with a visit to the success story that is Stewart Ramsay Ltd, and speak with constituent Stewart about his achievements and concerns alike.

Businesses like Stewart’s contribute so much to our local economy, and I would encourage everyone to get out and buy local over this coming festive period.

GRAEME

I’m Graeme’s Parliamentary Assistant based at Holyrood, but I support his constituency work as well. Having been Caseworker to an Aberdeenshire MP some years prior, joining Graeme's team in 2019 was a return to this line of work from a role in fundraising.
