Carnoustie Banking Hub opening date confirmed

Cash Access UK, the organisation set up to protect nationwide access to cash, has today confirmed the new Banking Hub in Carnoustie will open at 11am on Wednesday 12th July.

Carnoustie’s Banking Hub is located at 63 High Street, Carnoustie and will be officially opened by Graeme.

Following the lease signing for refit of 63 High Street, Carnoustie, into the new Banking Hub, I was pleased to visit the site today & see the progress.

Encouraging to see how work is coming along ahead of early July opening, & to discuss the proposition in further detail. pic.twitter.com/nUd1vxC0t8

The Banking Hub will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks and building societies can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday. The Banking Hub also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own banking provider about more complicated issues. The Carnoustie Banking Hub will be open Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm and the Community Bankers will work on rotation, with a different bank or building society available on each day of the week:

Monday: Royal Bank of Scotland

Tuesday: Virgin Money

Wednesday: Bank of Scotland

Thursday: TSB

Friday: Santander

Banking Hubs are being created across the UK and are funded and supported by 10 major high street banking providers: Bank of Ireland UK, Barclays Bank UK PLC, Danske Bank, HSBC UK Bank plc, Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide Building Society, NatWest Group plc, Santander UK plc, TSB Bank plc and Virgin Money. This is the third to open in Scotland with two existing Hubs in Cambuslang (South Lanarkshire) and Troon (Ayrshire).

Carnoustie was chosen to receive a Banking Hub after LINK, the UK’s cash access and cash machine network, identified the need for enhanced cash deposit services following bank branch closures in the town.

Having access to cash services is important for millions of people around the UK, therefore we are delighted to announce the opening of the Banking Hub in Carnoustie. Last week a new law was passed in the UK Parliament to protect Access to Cash so today’s news is perfect timing. We look forward to supporting local people and businesses with cash services.

GARETH OAKLEY, CEO, CASH ACCESS UK

The Banking Hub is a welcome addition to the community, especially for those who rely on cash and face-to-face banking. I look forward to opening the Banking Hub and seeing it making a positive impact on the local community.

GRAEME

As the launch date approaches, the Banking Hub would appreciate your help in letting the local community know about the Banking Hub. If you would like to attend the formal launch event to talk to the team and take photos, please let us know. The Banking Hub can also provide interviews, copy, quotes and images.

If you would like to know more about the Banking Hubs please contact: isabelle.sinnott@h-advisors.global
