Supporting the most vulnerable during adverse weather
Graeme recently visited Tayside 4×4, a vital charity in Angus which aims to support emergency services and vulnerable people during harsh weather conditions. They also support local authorities, NHS and utility companies. Amidst the recent challenges posed by severe Winter weather in Angus, Graeme met with Mr Andrew Bryce, the charity head, to gain insight into the organisation’s efforts.
With his visit, Graeme hopes to raise awareness of the pivotal role Tayside 4×4 plays in providing essential support to emergency services by utilizing their fleet of 4×4 vehicles. From remote areas of Angus to the wider Tayside region, the charity assists in transportation, prescription delivery, and even providing warm meals, ensuring that those in need receive timely assistance.
During their meeting, Graeme and Mr Andrew Bryce discussed Tayside 4×4’s additional logistical support that the charity provides to key service workers in times of need. Mr Bryce informed Graeme of the transportation services provided to key workers, such as Social Care staff and District nurses amongst other vital key staff, when they are needed in remote areas that have would been otherwise inaccessible without the support of the team’s 4×4 vehicles.
